<aside> <img src="/icons/verified_green.svg" alt="/icons/verified_green.svg" width="40px" /> Switch allows an unlimited numbers of users per account. Users can be one of four roles: Admin, Manager, Technician and Viewer. Each have different permissions which are explained below.

User roles

Switch supports 4 user roles which cover the vast majority of permissions needed by charge point operators.

Admin

Admins have access to all networks (see Networks) and can manage users, settings, and API keys. Basically they can do everything. An admin is required for each account and is usually the first user.

Manager

Managers are restricted to specific networks, within those networks they can manage everything. Managers do not have the right to manage users, networks, or API keys.

Technician

Technicians can view and manage charging stations in the networks they have access to but cannot access driver or transaction data. Typically these roles are used for maintenance personnel who need to be able to interact with the station but do no need access to financial or operational information.

Viewer

Viewers can view the data in the networks they have access to but cannot make any changes. This role can be useful for staff who need to do reporting on the operation and finances of the organisation but do not need to interact with the charging stations or other assets.

Invite a new user

New users can be invited here, or by using the “New” button on the sidebar, or by heading to the “Users” tab in the account settings area and selecting “Invite new user”.

Enter the users’ details and their desired role and networks they should have access to, and click “Send Invite”. They will get an email like the one below inviting them to set up their account.

Update Account Details

Account details can be updated here or by heading to the “Personal Details” tab in the account settings. Here you can update your name and password
