Hubject is a roaming hub where charge point operators (CPOs) and mobility service providers (MSPs / EMPs) can exchange data and commands relating to public EV charging. The hub model means that an operator can easily open their network up to public charging with many different apps and subscriptions with a single integration.
Switch is active on Hubject in a CPO role, this means we supply data on Switch Platform charging stations such as their location information, their status, and their tariffs. In return we can accept commands from MSPs to start and stop charging and then issue those MSPs updates on how much energy is being consumed by the driver during a charging session.
MSPs will usually charge the driver for their usage and then the CPO bills the MSP each month for the charging sessions which they initiated.

To connect to Hubject head to the app store and select “Connect” on the Hubject integration. You will have two options; Use Switch account (sub-operator) or Use my own account (operator). Both flows are described below.
The most common way to connect to Hubject is as a sub-operator. This means you’ll be registered as a part of the Switch operator network. Depending on the MSP app it’s possible the charger may be listed as part of the Switch network.
Onboarding as a sub-operator requires some manual process so to kick this off just select “Request Hubject integration” and we will be in touch for some details.
Switch will be in touch to confirm things like the contact number for issues and the preferred method for invoicing of MSPs. Once this is confirmed you will be onboarded as a sub-operator on Hubject and your Switch Platform account will be updated to be Hubject enabled.
As a sub operator you retain control:
